The Phoenix Valley is home to many world-class resort spas such as the Golden Door at the Boulders, the Phoenician, the Sanctuary Camelback Resort and Spa, and the Willow Stream - the Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. The creators of Moss Wellness Spa have set themselves apart by creating a spa that is authentic, natural, and inviting. Consequently, we are pursuing certification as a "green" spa. This comprehensive endeavor ensures long-term goals are measurable by third party certification standards. Moss was founded upon our commitment to minimize the impact on our natural resources.
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification was initially created by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) as a way to measure the efficiency of a structure as it relates to energy, building materials, lighting, and long-term energy planning. These measurable standards are essential in validating our energy efficiency.
The LEED certification process requires considerable documentation and architectural insight during the planning stages of both the structure and the interior design. This includes salvaged, recycled, and non-toxic building materials.
Moss Wellness Spa is striving to become LEED certified (Silver) by spring of 2009.
As environmental technology improves, necessary changes will be made in order for Moss Wellness Spa to remain the industry leader.
